With a tagline like "Monsters come in many forms." JJ Abrams knows he is setting us up for one hell of a ride and let me tell you, that ride will not disappoint.  10 Cloverfield Lane is easily one of the best I have seen in awhile. it has everything you could want, my biggest problem is that I can't say much about it without giving away anything and trust me the less you know going into this film the better the experience will be for you. If you watch the trailer below you will get all the details  you will need to head into this film.  You will be on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Seriously, this will get tense. May want to spring for the small soda so you don't miss anything with a bathroom break. Director Dan Trachtenberg brings something special to the screen with flawless execution.

The cast deserves killer praise for this film as well. They keep it small with John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and John Gallagher Jr.  These guys work splendidly together to create more tension and suspense than you know what to do with. Goodman plays Howard and is fantastic with the intensity he brings to his character. It is pretty refreshing to see coming from him. I haven't seen him go this hardcore in awhile, but it is great. Mary Elizabeth Warren, while she will always be Ramona Flowers to me, takes the lead in this film as Michelle, a woman who is just trying to figure out what the hell is going on. She is not some timid heroine either and can bring new meaning to the phrase go big or go home. Love her in this movie! John Gallagher Jr. as Emmett adds just a bit of humor to ease your tension through the film. It is almost like these three are playing a small orchestra on your emotions.

Many of your are wondering what/if any connection there is to the movie Cloverfield, well, I am going to leave you hanging there. Just know that this film falls into the same universe, but is not necessarily a sequel to the 2008 shaky cam film.

Overall this one scored an A+ with me. I actually can't wait to see it again.

10 Cloverfield Lane hits theaters everywhere March 11.
