Ever since I saw the preview for this movie I was extremely excited because there have not been any comedies like this that have made it to theaters all year long. All of the comedies we have seen up to this point are high action, heavy drugged, pornographic disasters. Finally, there is a comedy about a college student trying to find herself and survive life (if you are a college student like myself you can relate). The story line is two girls, soon to be step sisters, meet up in New York City and begin to get to know each other. One is in her late teens and the other one is in her late twenties. There is obviously a big sister relationship that occurs and that is when the fun begins.
This is what I absolutely love about this movie: The jokes are never ending, they are thrown at you left and right. I am not a fan of dirty humor and I know this film is rated R for language and sexual references, but I felt like it didn’t have enough for the Noe meter to disapprove. This has to be the most quotable comedy of 2015. There are so many quotes in this movie that you can’t even remember any as soon as you are out of the theater, you just know there are a billion hilarious quotes and you want to go back and watch just to memorize them. This is up there with mean girls on the quoting part. I really enjoyed how awkward this movie was, it pushes the threshold of how awkward a movie can be and that is great! The style of this movie is probably my favorite part, it has that indie vibe to it that I absolutely love.
I don’t have many bad things to say about this movie, it has a good length a good story line and a lot of parts where you will be laughing out loud, if you loved mean girls you will love this movie (not that its anything like mean girls, but it does have a lot of that “fit in” “identity” message and it gives you a good laugh) I would give this movie a solid 8 and I extremely recommend it to any college student that understands the struggle.
