My Beautiful Broken Brain is a very interesting look into the life of a woman who unexpectedly suffered a stroke that changes her world forever. Lotje Sodderland is n active 34-year-old woman who one day suffers a hemorrhagic stroke that leaves her with several life-altering disabilities. Strokes being what they may, this one leaves her with not only partially distorted vision on her right eye, but also, difficulty reading and retaining words and letters she reads. Despite all the hardship that this new reality brings to her she still manages to stay upbeat and never giving up the fight to better her situation whether it is through experimental treatments of simply pushing herself to study and work out her disorder, all the while she films a good chunk of her life experience on her phone through video. Lotje's journey is not an easy one but she is truly an inspiration to many as she navigates her new world and tries with a passion to regain control of her life. She is a joy to watch, even when the story shows us her setbacks and obstacles.  Anyone who has ever faced any time of medical adversity can attest to the struggle of what she may be going through, but watching her continue to improve and persevere makes the journey all the more worthwhile.

My Beautiful Broken Brain is a fantastic documentary to see and one that we highly recommend. Not only so it can give you a glimpse into the frustrating world of people with head injuries but also, because it gives us an interesting glimpse at times into what life is like for someone with these types of injuries. They bring her world to the view with camera graphics and it is scary to think that this is how she lives all the time. . Don't miss Lotje Sodderland's wonder documentary on Netflix now.
